What is an automatic bid?

An automatic bid means you can enter a maximum bid in the system. If you wish to bid a maximum of 20 euros on a lot, for example, as shown in the image below, you can set this up. The system then keeps up to date with the progress of the bids. If you are outbidden, a higher bid will automatically be placed for you straight away. The minimum bid increments that have been set up will be taken into account as well. This way the bid will never be more than 20 euros.

Note: if you are already the highest bidder on a lot and then you set up an automatic bid, you will outbid yourself! At that point, there will also be a warning asking whether you're sure you want to place this bid. It is not possible to cancel or undo a bid.
